Mr. Saeb Erekat, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, called on the International Criminal Court to open a criminal investigation into the ongoing Israeli occupation violations against the Palestinian people, their land and property, the most recent of which was the martyrdom of the young Iyad Al-Hallaq with special needs in the occupied city of Jerusalem by the bullets of the occupation forces.
Erekat said, in a press statement, that it is the responsibility of the international community to lift the immunity of the Israeli entity and its organized crime immediately, hold it accountable and stop dealing with it as a state above the law.
He also condemned the assassination of the martyr “Al-Hallaq” earlier in the day near the Gate of al-asbat in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem.
In the same context, Mr. Hazem Qassem, a spokesman for Hamas, said that the execution of the occupation army for a Palestinian citizen with special needs in occupied Jerusalem confirms the crime of the occupation leaders.
“These crimes will always be a fuel for the revolution of our fighting people, which will not stop until the occupier leaves the entire Palestinian lands, and our people’s response to them will be every time a new resistance act and an ongoing uprising.”
For its part, the Islamic Jihad movement said that the escalating Israeli terrorism increases the determination to continue the resistance and jihad, and to confront this ongoing aggression against our people, our land, and our sanctities.
Iyad Al-Hallaq, a 30-year-old Palestinian man with special needs, was martyred earlier in the day after the Israeli occupation forces shot him near Bab Al-Asbat in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem.
